The Mercury story

Local before it was a positioning statement.

Joey Schenck and Matt Guignon grew up in the Fenton area, played football together at Truman State University, and began investing in real estate in 2018.

Matt attended St. John Vianney High School. Joey attended Rockwood Summit. Their paths reconnected through real estate as they acquired, managed, improved, and transacted on investment property. After partnering on deals and discovering how well their strengths fit together, they built Mercury Capital Group as a full-time investment and operating platform.

In January 2026, both joined Invest STL as agents, adding a specialized brokerage channel for the owners and investors they serve. Mercury remains centered on principal investment, ownership, operating execution, and long-term relationships.

Mercury is technology-forward in how it sources, underwrites, communicates, and operates, while remaining human-centered in every relationship. The firm brings Wall Street rigor to strategy and protects the Main Street values—trust, accountability, and accessibility—that make partnerships last.
